A peacock taken today at Maulden woods (a fantastic place for a walk on a spring day) and a female minotaur beetle at the Lodge on Friday. Unlike the male of Will's previous post, the female is clearly without the 3 horns.

Four wings and a funeral
Came across these peacock remains yesterday at The Lodge. I think it might be the result of a hornet giving it a bit of a 'trim'.Monday, April 20, 2009
Weekend butterflies
A green-veined white (Pieris napi), a peacock (Inachis io) and a small copper (Lycaena phlaeas)
